Emergency calls, for patients of record after hours, would be directed from the office answering system to log into the office web site. The web site would allow the patient to fill out a dental emergency form which when submitted would alert the dentist via phone text message that a patient is seeking after hours assistance. Only patients of record would be listed in Dentrix and this emergency contact information could be part of the patient chart. The dentist, after receiving a text from the office web site, would use Dentrix Mobile and the office web site to review necessary information on the dental emergency form before contacting the patient. The doctor may turn the web option on or off as desired. For patients who do not have access to the internet, Dentrix could monitor the office answering system. An emergency call could prompt a generic emergency text from the Dentrix software that would be sent to the doctor so that the message could be retrieved.
