  1. Patients think dentistry is too expensive.

    According to Time Magazine, the average American spends more on household cleaning products each year than they spend on dentistry (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2095560-2,00.html). Two prophy's, a recall exam and 4 bite wings cost about what a guy spends on haircuts in a year. Prevention is cheap!!

    Even crowns and bridges are a great deal if you look at how long they last and how much you use them. A patient who would gladly pay over $1000 for a custom fly rod or hand made piece of jewelry will decline treatment because it is "too expensive". How much do you think…

  2. Post-op confusion about cost, benefits and balance due.

    We experience a great deal of frustration with after treatment discussion of costs and benefits.
    We have tried to make an agreement paragraph to add to treatment plans, but nothing works perfectly.
    Even with a signed review of costs we may still have problems.
    Benefits may not pay as expected. There may be treatment complications which increases cost. Patients may not pay as agreed. The treatment may be delayed and the list goes on.
    We try to make things run smoothly but early and solid collection management is a big issue.

  3. Unable to fill schedule for maximum production

    There seems to always be holes in our schedule and a difficult way to get patients in. There should be a more simplistic way for finding patients that we can call to fill schedule.
