Enhancement Requests

Do you have an idea for a new feature in Dentrix?

Welcome to MyVoice, the feedback site where you can enter, vote on, and view the status of requests from customers like you, to improve and enhance the Dentrix software.

We want to hear from you!

You may search for an idea using the field below, or enter your own idea if nobody else has made the same suggestion. To vote on an idea, simply click the “vote” button that is shown beneath the vote tally for each suggestion.

If you submit your own idea, please try to explain why this feature would help your office, so that other users (and our development team) can better understand why the feature is important to you.

If your idea is related to a legal requirement such as a new prescription or claim form (or changes to an existing form), please be sure to provide a link to a website that provides documentation regarding the changes, or attach the documentation to the idea directly (please do not attach any documents, screen shots, or other files that contain patient-specific, HIPAA-protected information).

We’re listening to the voice of our customers, so we can make the Dentrix software even better!

How can we improve Dentrix?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Treatment Case Reprint

There needs to be a way to reprint a treatment case/plan after it has been completed. There have been multiple times when a patient wants it reprinted and we are not able to do so. We can show a ledger or chart, but the patient wants the actual treatment case. It would be very helpful for us if that was an option. Thanks!

    • wish we could add xrays/Intra-oral Pictures right on the treatment plans

There is usually some white space on the treatment plans themselves when they are printed. I WISH we could add camera pics or xrays to it!!! To just drag and drop or even save the pics to a jpeg and add them to the document would be EXTREMELY helpful when presenting.

Hi Denise. In the treatment planner you should be able to hold shift or ctrl as you click on each of the procedures to select multiple. You can then change the provider for all of the selected procedures by right clicking and selecting “Change provider for selected procedures.”
          Does this help?

        • Rejected treatment plans color change instead of deleting from Clinical Chart

I would like the clinical tooth chart to still show rejected treatment plan but change the color to orange or yellow. Deleting them from the clinical chart stops the clinical team from bringing up the rejected tx plans when patients come in . OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND.

            • would like secondary insurance in treatment plan to calculate off of the secondary fee schedule when needed

Is it possible to create an option to uncheck secondary to figure off of a primary if they have non coordination of benefits? In other words, I need the secondary to figure the percentage in this one rare case, based off of its fee schedule. NOT the primary's fee schedule. As it stands, I have to manually figure the correct amount. Thank you

                • Referred to in treatment plan

When selecting a treatment plan as "referred to" it would be useful if that information would automatically be populated in the referral quick letters.

                  • Treatment Plan Graphic

The graphic that is printed on the Tx plan should be customizable for size. At this time I am told the size can not be changed. It is very small.

                    • Making Tx plans in chart Inactive

Is there a way to make Tx plans Inactive for patients that are not interested Inactive (ONLY the Tx Plans?) This way when we generate reports to call unscheduled Tx plans these will not show up?

                      • Treatment Planning Printing Correction

After upgradeing to G6.6 the treatment plans print differently in the following ways.
                        - Treatment visit and tooth number take up 1/3 of the entire column.
                        - Tooth chart is much smaller and challenging to read.
                        - Notes print on the second page when you select to include the tooth chart to print.

                          • Updated fees reflected on treatment plans

When fee schedules are updated manually, they should automatically be updated on treatment plans. When prior years treatment plans are completed, currently they reflect the prior years fee. If new fees have been put in, they should be reflected on treatments as well. We should not have to adjust fees from treatments that were created the previous year. Not to mention, some insurance companies don't give increase till months into the new year. Please make this a priority!!!! A lot of extra work is having to be done.

                            • Ability to remove practice address from printed treatment plans since it is being cut off

Allow office to remove practice address completely from printed treatment plan. As of now it never prints the address correctly and I was told this is an known issue. I think a simple fix for now is to remove the address completely.

                              • have a column in the chart of TX that shows what phase of treatment each item is in.

when the chart is pulled up and all the TX is loaded on the bottom it would be nice to have a column that shows which crown, fill, etc is in what phase of tx. So without having to pull up the TX planner or the ledger to see which phase is next. THANKS

                                • printing treatment

Since updating to 6.4 the treatment plans are (graphically) different and not patient friendly. Visit subtotals are no longer bold or separated in anyway so they blend in, the font is smaller making it hard to read, the financial summary is larger showing secondary insurance whether you want it or not and the chart is much smaller. On top of all that the case notes pick and choose when to print on the same page or on another. 1 filling and I get 2 pages, 4 visits and it's on the same, it is a very disappointing change but DTX…

                                  • treatment plan shows downgraded codes

Is there a way to have codes change automatically from a composite filling or ceramic crown to those with metal so they will automatically reflect on a treatment plan. For instance: Cigna dowgrades all posterior crn to a metal crown, a 215.00 difference for patients.

The original date treatment was added should be maintained in the progress notes once treatment is completed. Also automatically add copy of treatment plan to document center

                                      • Treatment planner in-network and out-of-network estimates must improve

Treatment planner is counter intuitive, ineffective, and useless.
I just spent the last two hours with support trying to make the treatment planner more effective. The technician was very knowledgeable and provided detailed instructions on how to make Dentrix do what it is designed to do. All of the solutions cumbersome and cause other problems.
Situation: I have roughly 15,000 active patients that visit my office routinely. Of those, more than 5,000 families are insured by carriers that we are contracted with. The treatment planner is intended to provide accurate estimates based on the details within the policy. • There should be an option to EXCLUDE completed procedures from the view in the Treatment Planner. Exclude completed proc. doesn't do anythin

There should be an option to EXCLUDE completed procedures from the view in the Treatment Planner. Exclude completed procedures options doesn't do anything at all. You can still see all of the completed procedures in the view when you're looking at the original treatment planned folder.
