Integration with Drug Reference software like Lexi-Comp
Dentrix should allow integration with drug interaction software programs, such as Lexi-Comp, which would enable patient medication lists to be stored, updated, and edited in the Patient Chart and to view drug alerts and interactions.

Great idea. I was using Lexi-Comp On Computer and storing patient medications there, but now Lexi-Comp only offers online version, with no way to store patient meds. Integration of Lexi-Comp with Dentrix would allow patient meds to be stored in Dentrix and uploaded to Lexi-Comp online for interaction review.

since Henry Schein purchedes OMS Vision as part of another aquasition, look at how OMS Vision incorporated this technology. It keeps a history of medications and checks when you write a new Rx for interactions with current medications. There are a lot of good ideas in that software that would help make Dentrix a true EMR.
