How can we improve Dentrix?

Option to mark Insurance Benefit Year Max Met when posting Insurance payments

It would be nice if there was a box to check when posting Insurance payments, if the patient has met their annual maximum (Per the EOB). This box, when checked, would then create a noticable alert in ledger, family file, and the tooth chart, to aid in giving patients more accurate information about their dental benefits and estimated co-payments when scheduling appointments. This would be especially beneficial when patients have received care at another office.

In Family File, open the Insurance Block. Click the "Deductibles" button. Here you can specify if the patient (or family) has met a deductible or received benefits. (This button was new as of Dentrix G4; in previous versions, you could double-click any insurance claim or pre-estimate, then double-click the top box (patient and insurance information block) and see the same window)

It would be helpful if we had a field to enter a dollar amount for benefits "held" towards a benefit max. For example, when we refer for a root canal, we could put in the dollar amount that should pay by insurance to be held towards the maximum. This would be an alert to possible benifits used when another office is involved and allow us to track this. When we receive a report from the other office we could then update the benefits used and apply this to the maximum.

this would be very handy, it's so easy for a patient to max. A pop up would benefit everyone from scheduling to clinical to patient. Takes the guesswork out of adding up in the ledger.

this would be a great idea, especially towards the end of year. The patient dental maximum is already entered, we have a running tally of treatment but no warning if a patient has maxed out benefits. We can look at the family file but when scheduling who wants to take the time to switch back and forth between schedule and family file to see if a patient has maxed out. A pop up alert would be so beneficial in the appointment book when scheduling someone who has exceeded their benefits.

I agree this would be great! Right now what I do as a work around is to create a flag and set it to pop up on "create new appointment". An extra step but it works

This is an awesome idea and would be great at a glance for everyone in the office to let the patient know they are maxed out.

That would be handy. When you get into the last quarter of the year some patient's benefits are maxed out. A readily seen alert would be helpful to let patient's know and give them the option of waiting until the new year.
