How can we improve Dentrix?

3 Insurance plans

Many federal employees have 3 insurance plans. 2 dental and 1 medical. The BC BS medical plan must be filed first before either of the 2 dental plans will pay. Dentrix only allows 2 plans to be entered which means the 3rd claim is done manually.

    This is a real concern - And I even have cases when there are 4 insurance (because of separated/blended families moms/dads/step parents) THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE!!!! I've called Dentrix a few times for this and there is still no update.

    So to the people who are saying there is an option for medical, you're correct. BUT in these 3 insurance cases, especially referring to the Federal Employees, their "medical" has a dental rider and pays on preventive services. When you enter in a medical plan it DOES NOT generate a claim unless you have the medical paper to print it on, then it converts the codes to bill to the actual medical plan, not the dental. Dentrix needs to be able to have the option to enter unlimited dental plans! It isn't hard, medical insurance software has it. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED TO BETTER SERVE OUR PATIENTS!!!!! It is impossible to track what claims are still pending payment and we shouln't have to play the "add the insurance and delete the insurance" game!! I've suggested this fix for my entire career in dental and the only response we get is "Thanks for the suggestion, we will look into it" It's 2019 and blended families are the norm and having 3 even 4 insurance is not unheard of! When you are preferred for those insurance you are legally obligated to bill those insurances, you can not tell the patient that you'll only accept two plans. FIX IT or give us the real reason why you can't so we can stop suggesting things that will never happen!

    Enter the medical under medical insurance. But some patient do have three dental insurances and I agree. We need more options

    I have made this suggestion many times before... How about putting the ability to add unlimited number of insurance plans with effective dates and termination dates so that the system will know which insurance to bill for each date of service. Many times patients' insurances will change before all claims are answered and you have to go in, take out the new insurance, add the old insurance, refile a claim, take out the old insurance, put back in the new insurance. I've worked with medical software that has this ability. There is no reason Dentrix shouldn't be able to do this as well.

    I would like to know how to bill the medical first if patient does have BCBS medical as well as 2 dental insurance companies as decribed above.
