How can we improve Dentrix?

Check for patient duplicates before adding new patient

When you fill out the "Enter New Patient Information" fields and press "OK", it would be nice for Dentrix to check the fields with existing patient information in the database. If it finds a duplicate, or even 75-80% similar, it will ASK if we are sure we want to create that new patient, just in case the new patient is an existing patient's son that has the same name and address. This will prevent adding any duplicate patients and would make life A LOT easier. Thank you!

        If you enter the patients SS number you will not get duplicate charts. It's a simple fix,

        I am having a real problem closing out my months. I am sure the change was made because changes were requested, but I wish the option to close out the month the way it was for so long, was available. I have been working with dentrix for nearly 20 years and for the first time I have not been able to properly close out teach month unless I call for the help of a dentrix team member. This has been going on since the summer and I am still trouble!!! very frustrated

        IT WOULD ALSO BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO MERGE TO PATIENT CHARTS IF YOU DO END UP HAVING A DUPLICATE PATIENT. I WORKED WITH ANOTHER SOFTWARE THAT HAD THAT CAPABILITY AND IT WAS A LIFESAVER.

        They have something like that.
        "The Social Security Number is invalid; it must be unique or left blank. Please verify that this patient has not been previously entered, or correct the Social Security Number." pops up when you try to enter a patient with the same SSN in the Dentrix system already.

        I'm surprised that this is not already active. It's standard in medical PMS. Same is true for entering coverage - there's nothing to help you see if there's already a match or something close in coverage.
