Medication List
No provider could possibly render treatment or give an Rx without knowing what medications a patient is currently taking. We need easy access to a list and totally user customizable and UNLIMITED....

We have been doing a lot of talking about going paperless and the discussion keeps coming around to how do we update medical history and medication. There are a lot of good sugestions here. I think a button on the menu bar would be good. Something that is accessable everywhere. Also a pre-made list of medications would be much better that having to type them all in.

If the plan is to go completely paperless there needs to be the possibility for unlimited medical information in Dentrix. For example, all medications they are taking, everything they are allergic to, and the wide variety of medical conditions that cannot be limited to 64.

Would be nice to have a medication list that is generated with all medications from Lexi Pro and you can drop down and select the medications the patient is taking instead of typing each medication in. We have some patients that are on 15+ medications.

I am VERY surprised this request doesn't have MORE votes..?! This is a definite NEED to become completely paperless. We need easy access to our patients' med list as health care providers!!

We customized our health history in the questionaire module; however, unless the question is viewed at each appointment, the medications would go unnoticed.

Our office has also found this to be a problem. We not only need to easily access the list, but it should have the capability of being updated whenever there are changes to a patient's list of meds.

There is a great need for a better place to put medication lists, there is no place on the update for health history information other than the question does the patient take medication. Like others we either scan info into patient chart, or put lists on the flag note.

Having a block that could be activated on a patient's chart that lists current medications and vital medical history is greatly needed. Searching through questionnaires and document center for this information is inefficient.

I'd have to agree with every comment. We have not become complete paperless, because of this. There should be a place on patient file that we can update and enter patients medical conditions and medications.

In the medical alert section--there should be a field to type in rx next to the medical condition.

Medical alerts are a real concern for us also. I have begun to scan in the patient's med list and place in the document center, if they provide a separate list than written on the patient form. If the list is written on the patient form we type the list in the patient notes. I do not like either option would prefer an option/area on the patient screen dedicated to the Med List along with a date so we can note when we last updated it.

Would be great to not have to search thru numerous clinical notes to find medications/med history, our #1 problem with dentrix! Also our office would like a place for the "blue sheet" personal information that help us connect with our patients better.

Please add some fields in the prescription module. We need a pharmacy pick-list that we can populate. Place to indicate if prescription was called in, where and when and by whom. Place to indicate patient's preferred pharmacy. Fields to capture pharmacy e-mail address, phone no and addresses. Patient allergies will pop-up if it conflicts with new prescrption.

Yes, nice to have medical alert and list of medication in separated boxes. So one to list shrort medical allert and another one for list of medication or medical history dates,ect.

I have been asking for this for years. The whole medical allert/Rx needs to be revamped because of our aging patients.

Other softwares can do this! Need this in the Family File and not yet another button on the toolbar where you need to select the patient.

It would be great if Dentrix could integrate information from Lexicomp, to allow storage if patient medications and instant checking for drug interactions.
