Insurance Maintenance
Have the ability to flag an insurance co. with information that would be attached to anyone who has the same ins. ie... BWX 1x mo, Fluoride 1 x 12, Pano 3 years etc... Instead of flagging each individual patient
Your Enhancement Request has been recieved, thank you.

This idea would be extremely helpful if there is a change in the plan or we need info from the patients who have that particular plan. IE: the office needs to collect a different ID # or the plan has a change in it like their coverage time frame is chaning. State of Az did that changed from OCt -Sept to Jan - Dec and gave all those pts. a mini period for oct -dec and it was a pain to flag all those pts with that ins. Having the ability to "also apply to patient alert to" all patients with that insurance. :)

Marianna, you have a point there too! It would be great if in addition to this request they would have an area that would capture the frequency limitation.

This would be elliminated if there was a place to capture frequency limitations when setting up a patient's insurance coverage information. This needs to be on a dental code level so that we would be warned when a patient is running into a frequency limitation when scheduling an appointment for that service.

Yes, This is exactly what we need. Notes in the insurance coverage tables are good, but not very effective. If there was a way to link the 'Note' to 'Patient Alert', this would be VERY helpful. Such as "This plan does not cover debridements", "No major coverage" "This plan does not cover fluoride" Or even a flag that would pop up stating the insurance name!

If you put the plan notes in the insurance coverage screen where it says "Notes" It will then show up on anyone who has that plan. The problem with pop ups attached to patients is that if their insurance changes the pop ups will no longer be correct. These notes are visible in the chart also under the treatment planner module. Click on Insurance/Case Amounts and click on Prim ins notes. My hygienists check that if they have any questions on frequencies, etc.

Or just an easier way to get to the insurance notes box

I love the patient alerts and think it would be fantastic if we had insurance alerts that come up whenever you have a patient with that particular insurance. AS stated before, for example when claims have to be mailed rather than electronic.

Not really. Having to attach it to every patient is what we are trying to avoid. Can you not make it possible to create a flag in the insurance maintenance that could be attached to insurance plans instead of individual patients?

Would adding an Option when Creating a Patient Alert to "Show Insurance Plan Note" satisfy the request? Of course you would have to add an alert to every patient for "Create Insurance Claim"

Yes you can put it in the notes but I would like it in a Flag that way I could attach it to "create insurance claim" and it would pop up. And for other things like Flouride only 1xYr , deductable applied to pano etc could be flagged in the neccessary places so that they are not missed

Sorry, should be Office Manager | Maintenance | Reference | Insurance Maintenance...

DENTRIX currently supports Insurance Plan Notes for this purpose exactly, go to Office Manager | Maintenance | Reference | Select any Plan | Cov Table | Notes. This note will be displayed for every patient attached to the plan.
DENTRIX also supports flagging of non-ECS payors, go to Office Manager | Maintenance | Reference | Select any Plan | Ins Data | Payor ID | Choose All Other Payors Not Listed (06126)

Definitely! Especially for things like claims. If an ins. co doesnt accept electronic claims it would be great to be able to flag that on the company and not have to flag every pt that has that ins. separately!
