Appointment Book View: add more options and customization
Would like to be able to customize the Appointment Book View/Print Appointment Book View in the following ways: option to hide the providers' color bars along the side; option to display a timebar between each operatory to make it easier to see what time appointments are; provide a tooltip over each colorbar to identify the associated provider; ability to break scheduled production down by operatory and provider; option to bold some of the lines displayed for the appointment block; options to display patient's age, chart number, referral source, insurance plan, benefits remaining, account balance, parents' names (display only for patients whose age is calculated as child), tooth surfaces for appropriate codes, appointment status, and any continuing care attached to the appointment, also needs to be able to default to always select all providers, even if a new provider is added and be able to show cell phone and other numbers.
Your request has been received, thanks

Yes, this is an issue. You have to view by daily view only to see the names. Seems so simple right? There are many simple things that are missing from Dentrix. The developers aren't really listening. They just do what they want and not what the users really need and use on a practical level. I've been asking for certain simple things for over 11 years. Imagine that? Like a place to capture pharmacy info. Simple and yet unavailable. Soooo sad.

We are in desperate need of a weekly schedule view that shows appointments AND the patient's names. We are a specialty practice and scheduling for the "week" is imperative. Right now all we can see on a weekly view are blocks of time shaded. We need to place "patients" into appropriate openings, not just a "procedure", as in block scheduling. We've recently converted to Dentrix and the good doctor is ready to take the loss and go back to our old software! Please help!!

I agree! The support department can help you with a utility to rename the 4 digit ID of the operatories; however, "Events" may be lost even using that utility.

Something that may help you now is the Daily Huddle Report's "Scheduled Patient Phone List" option. This includes all phone numbers for all scheduled patients on the day selected, and has been available since Dentrix G4 with Productivity Pack 8.

Would also like to have option to show mobile phone number for the printout I take home with me. Thant''s usually the best way to reach unconfirmed patients.

Some people no long have a home number and rely on their cell number. Please add this an option to view in the appointment book. The doctor does post op calls in the eveing and if they only have a cell phone it won't show on the printed schedule.

adding the cell phone # in the appt. book view would help greatly since so many people use cell phones more than a home phone or answering machine.

Want option to type in procedure codes instead of going thru the Category box. Takes way, way to long. We all know the procedure codes that are used. Type in code with the opt of tooth number, instead of a box coming up saying that this code needs a tooth number. I know that but give me the option of putting one in.

Karen-If you have the G4 Dentrix enhancement with the "hover" feature and put the cell number in the M box (in the phone number area) in the family file, you will be able to view the cell # from the info in the "hover" window in the appointment book. I am still waiting to be able to signify what number a patient wants to be confirmed at...it would change our lives!

You can create or modify different Appointment Book views by doing this, although for your request there is not an option to show only the first name.
1. Appointment Book | View | New (or select an existing view and then Edit)
2. Under Appointment Display Info - Set the "Name" line (usually line 1) to something different. Some offices prefer to change this to Chart number; others select "None" to make the line appear blank. -

I would like to be able to see which doctor sees hygiene patients without having to open the family file. It should be on the schedule. It is under the hygienist, but it says nothing about the doctor. This should be on the schedule.

I would like to hear a verbal prompt on Dentrix when the patient arrives. I would love to see this feature installed in the next version of Dentrix

We confirm our appts from the appointment screen. We really need to be able to list the patient's cell number so we don't have to click into the patient's family file screen to get it. EVERYONE uses their cell number.

hte appointment view now only allows home & work phone numbers. We REALLY need to add cell phone numbers also since this is what people use most today. We have also started to use the "other" phone field as their individual "preferred to use" phone number. We find that this is sometimes their work #, sometimes their home #, and then other times their cell #. Everyone seems to be different, so we duplicate their preferred number in the "other" option. We would like to have the option of also putting this number in the appointment book view. And if you could rename the field from "other" to "preferred" that would be even better.

It would save wasted time, right now we have to go into appt. & toogle over the pt appt.--which is even more challenging for our office because we already don't have enough computers. It would also be more efficient if we could choose a print view off the appt lists, like we can with appt book schedule. Along with that-another helpful tool, is giving the option to custom label the phone fields- allowing us to default to a patient's preferred number to call first. (ie- #1 Mobile-000-000-0000, #2 Spouse Mobile-000-000-0000 or for children or elderly with caretakers ie. #1-Sally (mother) Work- 000-000-0000)...we are old school & still confirm appts by calling... when I'm in my calling 'zone' trying to get this task done for the day-I mistakenly ask for a 2 yr old when someone answers the phone, then I fumble to get into the pt info-family file to be respectful enough to address the parent answering the call, by their 1st name (since 99% of the time they are pt too). So embarrassing.

I so agree with Dr. Gordon. There are so many clicks just to find the recall interval for a patient. Knowing what recall the patient is on is crucial to making sure patients are set up properly.

We would LOVE the option to apply gray shading on every other line of the appt book so it would be easier to read and input exact appt times quickly when you are busy.
