How can we improve Dentrix?

Track patient visit with appt status for wait time, etc.

Have a "stop watch" to show exactly how long an appointment has taken. Start a timer when a patient shows up for an appointment, so that at any time, the user can see how long a patient's visit has taken so far, with a sub-time for each phase of the visit (reception, operatory, waiting, etc.). Elapsed time for each phase of the visit. Break the time down by location to know how long the patient is waiting in the waiting room, how long in the operatory, how long getting x-rays, etc. Show the physical location of the patient on the appointment block. Store the tracking and provide reports for scheduling analysis. Staff can use this information to help determine which ADA codes might need Time Units adjusted to help improve efficiency in scheduling production times. [1496 114703]

        Great suggestions and being "researched since 2014"? Our office recently switched to Dentrix from PracticeWorks for other reasons. BUT PracticeWorks has all of this. At check-in, a timer starts and then ends when patient is seated. When hygiene calls a doctor for a check another timer starts and then ends when doctor enters room. If a patient is late, the appt block changes color so everyone is alerted. It makes for better customer service. Not sure what the delay is in getting this into Dentrix which has so many other great features.

        It would be great to have a setting in the appt book that indicated when a patient had been waiting for an extended period of time. Practices could customize the alert. Once the status of the appt turns to "READY", the timer would start and the appt would flash or shake to let the team know that this pt has been waiting too long. Something similar to a "ring back" feature on the phone system when a phone call has been placed on hold for too long.

        Dentrix would change the color of the appointment to red or another "stand out" color to indicate when a patient is late for their appointment

        There should be a pop-up alert system that will override other screens when patients are late. At the front desk there is so much to do we are not able to constantly check the schedule for late patients. Thank you.

        As I have read others...be able to make a sound or some indication that a patient has arrived for their appointment on all computers in operatories. Also to allow a sound to alert Dr and Assistant that a patient is ready in a certain operatory.

        I would like to time stamp the actual completion time of an appointment. When set/complete the actual begin/end appointment time and amount of treatment time. This will help to track actual time to allow for procedures.

        Time clock for each appointment status, ie "# min pt has been in waiting room" "# min dr. wait" "# min pt has been seated" We are in a 9 op office and use the appointment book to move the dr to the next waiting hyg exam. We really miss this function and it would be great to have on dentrix!

        If the patient is late for their appointment it flashes until it is rescheduled or removed from the appointment book or if we click it not to flash again.

        In the appointment book any patient that has not arrived they continue to flash until they arrive, are rescheduled or you click for it to go off.

        When the assistant or hygienist is ready for the doctor to come in the room you can change colors on the appointment book view and a timer starts so the Doctor know which patient has been waiting the longest or how long the patient was in chair for the scheduled procedure.

        Yes please! Our office would like to be able to print out or view a report that shows patient wait times. We never like to keep our patients waiting and knowing the exact time they arrive to their appointment and how long it takes for them to actually see the Dr. will be very helpful.

        I would like to see a checklist for employees to follow when checking in and out patients. If any insurance fees or data is wrong it stops you from continuing to proceed till fixed.
        a checklist consisting of:
        Date of birth
        Patient name
        Insurance
        fee sch.
        address
        social security
        appointments
        signature of employer who check-ins and checks-out.

        Yes please! Our office would like to be able to see real time data on how a patient's time is being spent in the office as well as the ability to run reports later showing our % of on time for any given patient/day/week/month/provider. This is basic information and with the status changes already happening a time stamp should be easy to incorporate.
