Instant messaging between workstations
When a patient comes in for the appointment, would like the front desk people to be able to send a message to the back office, no matter what module they're in, letting them know that the patient is here. Would like an internal messaging system for this purpose and to leave messages for each other. [2582]

Need the option to create group contacts. A message stating "your patient is here" could only apply to a certain Dr and dental assistant.

I would like the option to choose multiple workstations, without ALL being chosen. Also an audible sound as a notification that there is a message to check vs. the message being automatically displayed. This would keep messages descreet when an employee may have briefly left the room or if a patient may be looking at the screen intentionally or not.

Our outside IT Dental Office Support is commenting there has been many troubles with this application. I would like some feedback to know if the bugs have been worked out. We will be putting this on approximately 15 computers. Is it best to put the Message Server on the actual office server or just a PC that is always up?

Benefits:
Front can announce to back when pt's are here.
Front can give back a discrete heads up in pt is in a bad mood.
For quick questions, back doesn't have to get up and ask front.
Hygiene can call Dentist without having to leave pt. -

We are having problems with the messages not always popping up. It seems to be a random occurence. When will this issue be corrected?

When you call support and they say the that esync and dentalink still have problems...then don't install them! eServices has real quality issues.

Hmmm We are using Dentalink and the messages don't alway pop up on the other computers! I've gone to every computer and to settings and changed it to Manual so the msg isn't suppose to disappear until someone clicks on it , right? Does everyone have to OPEN it ever time we turn the computers on in the morning? This will be a FANTASTIC tool once it's working everytime!! :)

Dr Chris Anderson's Office and The glowing team, I really appreciate your comments. We did discover some bugs in eSync 3.0 which is why we took some additional time to fix those bugs and make sure that eSync 3.1.5 was ready for release.

tphillips and Lynda, this is not tied to eCentral. This is a service tied to being a customer of Dentrix on the latest version, similar to Dentrix Mobile. As long as you are on Dentrix version G4 with Productivity Pack 8, Dentalink will install.

I also had the same issue as Lynda...no longer available??? I would hope that there isn't an additional charge for this or that it is only connected to e-central.

I agree with Lynda, I hope the program works better than the URL. I also hope this is not another "add on" that we have to pay extra for. The monthly software maintance fee is high enought that everything should be included.

I certainly hope the program works better than the URL did! I followed the URL to a page that says this page has been moved or is no longer available??? Did anyone else have this problem?

I called today and was told that this option is only available if we choose to pay the extra amount for e-central? Is this truly the case? If so, are you going to make this option available to offices that are not using the e-central services?
