This has been an issue for the 12 years we have been using Dentrix. So simple, yet it never seems to get corrected.

I would also like to know how to create better "statement" notation in the ledger. I find the ledgers are almost impossible to break down payments and the claim that it is attached to without having to open everyone.

It would be very helpful to be able to place notes in the ledger that can be viewed and printed on the statement. My old program had this capability and I really miss it. Saves time when patients have questions regarding a statement.

This is also mentioned in the Office Manager Forum. Let's hope we can get this limit removed.

the billing statement needs more characters! i agree with you shannon.. i use the statement to explain directly to the patient instead of having them call me asking questions after they receive the statement. even if we use the statement notes, they still will not work bc the character limit is so small. I end up having to hand write everything that is needed to be said! we need this changed..Now!!!!

Yes, this is a big problem. We are forced to hand write a comment on the statement which does not look professional at all. Please fix this asap.

Yes, and could the note be printed in bold or italics or a different font, so it is more noticible to the recepient?

We would love if we could fit at least 3 times more characters on the statement note. There is usually only room for 1 sentence, a couple would be nice. Also, larger font would be helpful, the note is not very noticeable. We usually have to highlight it so the patient actually sees it.

I totally agree. You can fit quite a but more though if you go to Office manager - reports-billing, and put your note in there and then go back to the patients ledger and print the statement. Kind of a pain but workable until Dentrix upgrades

I don't think there should be a character limit. The font is small enough (& the perfect font size, don't change it!) to fit quite a bit from "DATE" through the end of the paper "CREDITS" However, at this moment, it pretty much ends after "DESCRIPTION". We don't want to write stories about why they are being billed. We just want to finish our sentences. Example: "Your insurance did not cover the fluoride treatment due to age limitations. Balance is the patient portion." This does not fit. It ends at "Balanc". I think that if a note is too long it would be up to the staff's discretion on how to edit it to fit on the billing statement. Thanks!

This is not an uncommon request - I'm interesting in your feedback regarding the implementation of the enhancement. How many characters should be allowed - what should happen if the billing note is verbose enough to extend into the itemized transactions on the statement?

What we need for the billing statement notes is the ability to use more characters. I use notes to explain why they are being billed, but if I can't finish my sentence, it is frustrating. Not sure why Dentrix created the up & down arrows on the right of the box if they can never be used. Now that they upgraded, having statement notes to choose from, that really doesn't help when creating your own notes because you are still being limited by character amounts allowed. Please let us write more! Thanks!

there already is a billing note under the guar note. There is a date under it and it will print that note until that date. I just wish it was a larger font.
