Clinical notes needs some way to sort and view one provider's notes, or notes with a certain word used at the beginning or in a myriad of other ways that would make information retrieval possible. Right now, it is very cumbersome to both enter and retrieve clinical notes. I like this idea of tagging or "filing" under a topic or word.
Also, clinical notes needs what Word calls Auto Text or a phrase or word or even a few letters that can be typed and some text will then expand automatically. Also color coding, underlining, highlighting, caps, etc... should be available. -

How is this idea not ranked #1? I don't know how many times in a day I want to know the history of a tooth and have to either go to the ledger (open a whole new module) or change the patient chart layout. Arggghhh - the information is right there -- if only I could access it in under 15 minutes. Come on Dentrix -- you can do it :)

Clinical notes should have a Subject heading so that we can identify what the notes contain. Right now it just says "Clinical Note" and have to open them one by one to see the content.

This is very frustrating to review notes without the tooth number available

This is very important when dealing with full mouth reconstructions!! When we have over 100 procedures to perform, it would be nice to be able to sort by tooth number to make sure each procedure is represented for each tooth. Sorting by tooth # would make it make easier to verify.

This would be very similar to every old fashioned charting sheet. It was so simple. If you just type the tooth number in a box prior to starting your note. The tooth number could be posted next to the date on the ledger of clinical notes. very good suggestion.
