  1. Check for patient duplicates before adding new patient

    When you fill out the "Enter New Patient Information" fields and press "OK", it would be nice for Dentrix to check the fields with existing patient information in the database. If it finds a duplicate, or even 75-80% similar, it will ASK if we are sure we want to create that new patient, just in case the new patient is an existing patient's son that has the same name and address. This will prevent adding any duplicate patients and would make life A LOT easier. Thank you!

    • changing the status of an appointment when rescheduled

      The appointment book should automatically change the status of the appointment to "none" when moved to the pinboard. This would prevent any mistakes from thinking an appointment is confirmed when in reality, someone just forgot to change the status when it was rescheduled.

      • Medication List in Health History

        In the Health History, it is nice that you separated the Medical conditions and allergies, but we need an additional area for Medications.

          There should be a way to text a patient directly from the appointment view rather than having to click 5 different things prior to being able to text them. You can use the phone directly from the appointment book view, texting with a right click would be a great feature

            its is very important to get birthdate for a pt when new appt is made, i am surprised that this is not advised before , nor the requirements team or testing team has pointed or its in the list. whatever that feature is very important

              • Completing appointment without Clinical Note

                We should NOT be able to "gray out" or complete the appointment on Appointment Book View if 1) insurance has not been batched for the day and 2) if No clinical note was signed.

                • The ASAP list needs another column at the end that has a place for comments as to what the desired time is for the requested appointmen time

                  There is space at the end of the column to put comments on the asap list as to what the patients requested time or days would be preferred.
                  The only way to know their request is to open the scheduled appointment and put comments on the bottom, which is way more time consuming.

                  • Mark appt for pre med different

                    Pre med's are included in medical alerts but don't need the attention that pre meds do for appointments. We have to look at all alerts when only need to call about pre meds.

                    • Carry customization of Dentrix to upgrades

                      When upgrading Dentrix Versions, can the customization in all modules be carried to the new version, eliminating the need to re-customize each work station. Such things as Appointment Book Views, Colors, Tool Bars... All are customizable to make Dentrix exactly what we want. Then it is all lost with the upgrade. Each Work station must have a file with the customizations - Can that be carried/upgraded to the new version on each work station.

                        Make the apt status to auto change to red if pt is not marked here or in the chair at their scheduled time.

                        • Change schedule effective a future date (example: 1/1/2019)

                          It would be helpful if you could change a practice schedule effective a future date with out changing the current schedule. For example, we have a dentist retiring at the end of the year so I want to change the schedule effective 1/1/2019. As it is, I have to change EACH DAY manually since I want the schedule to remain the way it is through the end of December and we schedule at least 6 months in advance.

                          • Entering STAFF ID should be mandatory and the system should NOT just use who last made appt.

                            At this time when using pinboard - the computer leaves the original ID in Staff ID. When changing or making new appt - this should go blank and always require the person making the appt add their ID. The history is an important feature but this is important. IE I don't make appt anymore yet my ID is still connected to the new appt made using the pinboard.

                            • alternating perfect day scheduling per week

                              We currently use the perfect day scheduling and time blocks to guide the booking of certain procedures at certain times, but not every week is the same. It would be nice to have the ability to have a 2-4 week rotation of this feature, for example Monday week 1 and Monday week 2, which would be different.

                              • Adding to appointment book. We would like to see the name of assistant who is working with patient.

                                We would like to see the assistant name appear on schedule with the patient appt. The appointment shows, patient name, phone number, provider and procedure and it would be nice to also add the name of their care coordinator so we can glance at schedule and know which assistant is helping that patient.

                                  It would be great to have each appointment be a different colors such as crowns, buildups, Prophy's, etc. It would make the schedule more efficient.

                                    • How can I prevent clinical staff from moving appointments

                                      There is no way to prevent clinical staff from not changing appointments. Currently if I uncheck the Appointment Edit box, they cannot open the appointment!!

                                      This is very very very painful for us. We are a 40 people office and I need clinical staff to not move the appointments....PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

                                          dentrix should block any user from being able to make an appt if patient has recall 6 month restrictions.

                                          ins denies payment if violation of this rule happens.
