  1. Customize Route Slips & Patient Visit Forms

    We should be able to REALLY customize the Route Slips and Patient Visit Forms! I work in a dental office and feel that the Route Slips give too much information, but the Patient Visit forms just don't give enough. I like certain information boxes from each form, but we are not given the ability to mix and match the forms.

    In our office we need something simple, but that gives detailed information about that days visit. (Procedure, Procedure code, Description, Cost - Patient Name, DOB - But still a blank space that the clinical team is able to write notes…

    • Tracking cancelled/deleted appointments

      Other than the "history" option in the appointment view, there should be a way (in the family file?) to track scheduling/rescheduling of appointments, including deleted appointments and also a possible "reason for cancel" as well. We had a minor come in the office, but mom cancelled the appointment. The appointment was deleted instead of broken so there was no way of tracking anything. The mother claimed she did not cancel this appointment and there was no way (to our knowledge) of resolving this. This also comes in handy for patients who have a long history of cancelling/rescheduling/no-showing. This would be…

        A nice improvement would be an optional flag, to warn if I schedule a cleaning appointment prior to 6 months. Sometimes people will call for their appointment as soon as they get the postcard, and I'll accidentally schedule the cleaning too soon. It's awful to not get paid because it's too soon.

        • Add "Next Visit" to the family file.

          First visit and consent seem to be the same date for most practices. The screen allows for consent date,m first visit date (one of those really oughta be enough) and then of course last visit. It would be lovely for it to say NEXT VISIT right there as well. I can't be the only one that thinks this

            First Consent and First Visit aren’t always the same, and some users appreciate being able to track each one independently. However, I do think that tracking the next visit is a good idea, and we appreciate the feedback given, I’ve edited the title to reflect this. Going forward, lets try and keep idea submissions more professional.

          • There should be some way to flag people who are due for form updates

            Some forms expire 3-6-12 months after they are filled out. There should be a flag or notes that come up when they are scheduled to let you know they are due to update those forms

              There is no way to tell who has been contacted on the Unscheduled List, because of this, it's taking a lot of time to go through each appointment and read the notes so we are not calling a patient every day.

              • Max not being counted toward preventive services.

                Some insurance plans don't apply the max towards preventive procedures. We need away to mark this, that way it won't say the patient is maxed when they really aren't.

                  • Would like to be able to put in 3rd and 4th insurance

                    Would like to have a 3rd and a 4th insurance section. We have many now especially with adult children still on their parents insurance.

                    • An indication of whether the parent is the biological, foster, guardian, step parent...

                      We see this often in a pediatric clinic. Alerts help but it would be much more simple just to have a drop down box that would indicate the relationship to a dependent child. It is common to have multiple parents within the family file due to their insurance coverage.

                      • Specific code tracking

                        There needs to be a place where I can put in a specific code and be able to see who needs appointments or who has appointments for this code, such as implants. This would be helpful as to follow up with patients in ordering parts, monitoring what stages they are in, etc. This does not currently exist. Please update ASAP.

                          It is very confusing to send a statement for a single member of the family and have all family member's balances on the statement. The account balance could be quite large but the patient's balance may only be $15. This would be a huge benefit, in my opinion.

                          • co pay amount to show on the appt information screen for that exact Treatment scheduled

                            There needs to be a field for the co pay amount of the specific appt. -when you open that appointment from the appt book - Without having to go into the TX planner and pick the specific appt as first option - You could open the appt and give the patient their copay amount on Exact TX scheduled.

                              Instead of using the unscheduled list is there a way of making a short list of patients who are looking for a specific day or time and are waiting for a call to get scheduled? This would be something anyone can open and look at in order to schedule.

                                • Flag Accounts to Alert when a patient turns 18

                                  It would be helpful if Dentrix had a way to flag patients accounts so when a child turns 18 we are alerted to update their forms since they are now legally an adult.

                                    It seems that this reports shows an X in this column if there is any family, including the patient, who do not have an appointment in the future not including the day of the report. So for example, if 2/3 of the patients coming in tomorrow are coming for hygiene and we typically only book their next appointment after their current appointment, then assuming these hygiene patients have no other appointments booked, they will all have an X in this column.                                       This is not the designed behavior – The “X” should only display if the patient/family member has no appointments either today or in the future – I have confirmed this on our end. I believe our support team still has intentions to reach out to you to discuss this. I have asked that they report this to the development team when they do, so that this can be properly documented.

                                        You should be able to add more in the medical alert area to be specific to what the office wants and should not be limited. Therefore you are only having to click on the medical alert and not have to type it in on the note section. Each office should be allowed as many medical alert prompts as they want not what the program is dictating. It makes the process faster for the clinician.
