  1. Check for patient duplicates before adding new patient

    When you fill out the "Enter New Patient Information" fields and press "OK", it would be nice for Dentrix to check the fields with existing patient information in the database. If it finds a duplicate, or even 75-80% similar, it will ASK if we are sure we want to create that new patient, just in case the new patient is an existing patient's son that has the same name and address. This will prevent adding any duplicate patients and would make life A LOT easier. Thank you!

      It is very important for clinical and billing staff to have this information.

      Each drop box provides the option of # of months it is allowed, # of years it is allowed, or if it is allowed # of times per period (see example attached).

      • "Primary" phone number instead of "mobile" or "home"

        I would love to see an option to note a patients "primary" number and secondary number and then what it is - whether it be a mobile or home number. It then be nice to be able to have the PRIMARY number be an option on the schedule view. Some patients prefer to use a home number, while others prefer to use a mobile.

        • Make ipad signature possible!!

          Very disappointed. We were sold the idea of going paperless by using ecentral questionnaires and still can not have a legal signature on our ipads when the patient completes the medical history update. Our office is very unhappy!! I can not believe that Dentrix would not have the appropriate legally required signature space available for our patient's to sign with in the software program developed for ipads accurately.

          Could you please make the signature capability possible when using the ipad. That is our main form of all patient responses and medical and financial updates.

          • Create the Option to Choose what Services are Deducted from the MAX Allowance.

            Some Insurance Maximums are not reduced by Preventative or Diagnostic Care. Please allow us the options to check what categories get deducted from the Max Allowance.

              Many federal employees have 3 insurance plans. 2 dental and 1 medical. The BC BS medical plan must be filed first before either of the 2 dental plans will pay. Dentrix only allows 2 plans to be entered which means the 3rd claim is done manually.

              • better billing statements for patients

                when printing a patient bill, it only goes back 1 month for payments that a patient has made. patients like to see all the payments made. we should not have to print multiple reports when sending out patient bills monthly. it should all be one slip of paper

                  its is very important to get birthdate for a pt when new appt is made, i am surprised that this is not advised before , nor the requirements team or testing team has pointed or its in the list. whatever that feature is very important

                  • waiting periods

                    There needs to be a place to enter effective dates for insurance plans that have waiting periods. Some plans have different waiting periods for basic and major. There is no flag or warning when there is a waiting period

                    • Add another insurance option for entering orthodontic benefits seperate from dental. Often there is a seperate lifetime benefit for ortho.

                      Add a tab in the insurance information module to input ortho benefits. This would help with estimates and with tracking ortho vs. dental benefits.

                      • When printing a Single Patient Ledger it would be helpful to have the Dr./Practice full name, address and phone number on this statement.

                          We should NOT be able to "gray out" or complete the appointment on Appointment Book View if 1) insurance has not been batched for the day and 2) if No clinical note was signed.

                          • Providers to be changed when set complete with provider scheduled even if treatment is planned under a differnt provider.

                            We have four doctors and this is time consuming and inaccurate to have the treatment not automatically change to the scheduled provider. We have 4 doctors, this is very time consuming. We'd rather have the old version back. This is inefficient.... we're going backwards guys! if we can change the provider for the treatment plan... one click by highlighting instead one procedure at a time, should have been included in the update. This was poorly though through. Managemnet does not thank you.

                              Pre med's are included in medical alerts but don't need the attention that pre meds do for appointments. We have to look at all alerts when only need to call about pre meds.

                                We need a copy of the treatment plan exactly as it was presented to the patient to go directly to doc center. The consent form is really difficult to go back & sort through after the fact.

                                    • Adding the doctor to Hygiene Appointment

                                      It would be great to show which provider the patient is assigned to on they hygiene appt. So in the Appointment Display Info, there should be an option to show provider that matches what's in the Family File instead of which provider they are scheduled with. We can see that with the colors assigned to each provider.

                                          be able to run a report to see insurance claims batched but have not been sent. so that you can re create them to send to the insurance company, instead of having to run the insurance aging report.
